Pokey Chatman Resigns as LSU Coach Amidst Player Relationship Rumors

John Amaechi simply says that he’s gay and it’s the topic of the sports world for weeks on end.
But LSU Women’s Coach, Pokey Chatman, has just resigned due to a rumored past relationship with a player - and we bet it’s off the front page before the weekend is over.
Louisiana State University, sources said, learned of the relationship from an employee within the basketball program. It was unclear when the alleged improper conduct took place - but it’s not unclear just how improper this conduct was.
Just imagine if it had been a male coach and a female player. The coach would be endlessly lambasted and shamed … as he should be. But who wants to wager that the name “Pokey Chatman” is forgotten about in the sports lexicon within days. And why is that?
Because lesbian relationships are somehow seen as less sordid? Because Chatman didn’t take advantage of this young woman, simply because they share the same gender? Chatman is 37 years old. It’s unknown when this relationship took place, but it’s safe to assume that the age difference was around 20 years.
LSU athletic director Skip Bertman told The Times-Picayune of New Orleans, which first reported Chatman’s alleged misconduct with one or more players Thursday on its website, that no formal inquiry into Chatman’s conduct had been opened by the university. Bertman did acknowledge, though, that an informal investigation “might have happened.”
“The girl did what she did and LSU had no control over that,” Bertman said, referring to Chatman.
Maybe not. But referring to Chatman as a “girl” underscores my point. The incident is being written off as harmless, swept under the proverbial rug, because it was a woman seducing a younger, impressionable woman.
Would the response be so tepid of a man slept with one of his players?

First and foremost I think that this is a bunch of Bulls*hi* If Pokey Indeed had any type of relations with a former player then so what? In my opinion she was doing the alleged “Victim(victim my azz) a favor. Think about it…..She makes like half a million a year coaching the team and she’s very attractive. You all know that those girls must’ve been prancing their ass*es around her constantly trying to get her attention so that they can get into her wallet and into her life. I don’t think that someone of her wealth, intelligence, and extreme beauty has to exploit young WOMEN(not children) in order to get companionship, attention, or sexual relations, I’m pretty sure if she ever shows her face in a lesbian club or event that she would get almost raped by half the girls, and the remaining half would probably faint on sight. So lets not see her as some some undesired, unknown, broke as* elementary school coach that must use her coaching power to get any sort of sexual attention. Carla Berry on the other hand has much to be desired financially, and……well facially(lol I never thought that I would use the word “facially” in a sentence like that) I swear I wouldnt have known who she was unless she lied and damaged the reputation of an excellent coach. What was Carla Scary’s motivation? It was PURELY MALICIOUS and she wants Pokeys’ job, women, and money. I could clearly understand if she told someone while(if) it was going on and she told the authorities to stop the alleged abuse on this GROWN A*S student. What would she be doing by telling someone now? would she be helping the alleged student? who would she be helping? She’s doing NOTHING but disrupting the peace over at LSU and you think that LSU will EVER let her become head coach over anything? LSU Loves Pokey and always will so if anything, this wanna-be rich snitch b*tch will soon get d*tched and nobody else will hire her. In Pokey’s case I bet there are zillions of teams trying to contact her to up her half a mil salary to a mil or more. Carla Scary is just upset that Pokey chooses pretty young (BUT LEGAL) Tenderoni’s over her tired, dry, washed up, dusty ass. That has to be the source of her malicious lying. She’s probably been sexually harassing Pokey for years and crying over the fact that her feelings have always, are and WILL always be unreturned so she’s trying to destroy her. It seems that Ms. Scary wants to BE her and be WITH her now how scary is that. Either way Pokey we all Love you and know that you will bounce back from this ordeal so dont even let it keep you up at night baby doll.

This is Piggy from ams I BEEN looking foward to going to LSU when i get to college..I love pokey chatman as a coach and in 4 more years i was wishing she was still coaching because i admire her..I agree with the assistant coach ben we are not just basketball players we are good kids who want to do something like Pokey chatman.I am very disappointed in her and the other player..wHeN SHE ANNounced she was leaving I started crying my mother said it was OK. i first thought the player was Seimone Augustus(The Player I waNnA BE LyKE dA mOST)BuT to this day I still dont know who it is but I still wish and Pray to go to LSU even though pokey isnt there thats my goal right now attending LSU I am Scoring 20 pts a game in middle school bout time i get to college NOBODY WANT STOP ME IN ACDEMIC NOR BASKETBALL!!

This Piggy from Ams again and I JUST cant believe she resign I mean I was not expecting this no time soon words cant even explain how much i care about Pokey Chatman and LSU these girls did this for us and themselves and this is what she give them in return she did them VERY WRONG in my understanding who is the player??I Know seimone was very very disappointed all the things she went through for Pokey and the team I just love tEmeka J.,sylvia Fowles,Quianny Channey,Erica White,Rashonta Leblanc,and the rest of the players they push through.Im ready to go SHINE at LSU!
