Tony Romo-Carrie Underwood Rumors Surface
January 3rd, 2007 by Michael StephensLate last year, we investigated the rumored, oddly intriguing love triangle involving Cowboys gunslinger Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson and John Mayer. Which, it turns out, was pure nonsense as it later became known that Romo and Simpson never met.
But now, a seemingly more credible story is going around that the Dallas quarterback is seeing former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood.
An American Idol fan site, citing several sources, reports that Underwood was a surprise guest at Texas Stadium for the Cowboys’ Christmas Day game against Philadelphia, giving Romo a hug on the field before kickoff.
Romo also told a small-town paper in central Illinois, where he attended college, that he was in fact dating Carrie Underwood. The pair may have met at the Cowboys game on Thanksgiving, where the country star performed at halftime. Now, we’re still speculating here - but at least in this case, he’s actually been seen talking to (and hugging) the person he’s supposedly dating.
Sadly, the Cowboys have faltered down the stretch and coughed up a chance at the NFC East title. They face Seattle in the first round of the playoffs Saturday. Hopefully Tony Romo can keep his focus and put together a victory. If only so we can enjoy the antics of Terrell Owens for one more week and see more pics of Underwood.
