Scary-Looking Baltimore Ravens Attend WWE Raw

November 21st, 2006 by Michael Stephens

Wow. And we thought certain NBA teams were essentially a bunch of thugs. Well, some of them are. We certainly don’t mean to diminish the accomplishments of Stephen Jackson or Sebastian Telfair. But the Baltimore Ravens, seen here attending WWE Raw, look far more imposing than the wrestlers themselves. Bet you at least 40 percent of these guys are packing heat, too.

Straight Thuggin' It

They comfortably sit atop the AFC North at 8-2, but Baltimore Head Coach Brian Billick might want to rethink letting his team attend such events We saw what it did for the Detroit Tigers. Then again, maybe their intimidating presence is part of the reason they’re in the hunt for the top seed in the conference.

And on the plus side, it appears that Ray Lewis, the Ravens’ defensive leader and All-Pro linebacker, is nowhere to be found. Why? No idea. He’s probably out impregnating someone with his seventh child.

    Mr. Stephens,
YI just saw the comment insinuating that several of the Ravens players in the picture we “packing heat”. Making such a statement is a large example of irresponsible “journalism” and more of an expression of your own personal steroetypes or opinions or intertreptation of the photograph and what should be percieved. You have no merit in making the assumption that any of these men are “packing heat”. Let me ask you, if the picture was of a group of white Ravens players in the same jovial stances, would you have assumed or asked the “packing heat” question then? Shame on you. These men, athletes or not, are constantly misunderstood, or judged erroneously by the public and the media. Members of the media should be more aware and actually care that things they print are read by millions and that those words and ignorant assumption and oopinions may be enforcing, culitivating or planting the seeds of racist thought and sterotype. The media should concentrate more about FACTS and less about personal opinion. remember the adage, “Just the facts!”, it used to be the moniker of the media. Where I will admit to the unfortunate present and recent past incidents of certain specific black athletes, the world of sports as a whole has begun to rear it’s ugly head. We definitly do not need the media to pour gasoline on the fire, unjustly in this instance, but rather concentrate on your own departure from what once was a profession full of journalistic integrity.
