I’ll bet someone right now that the NHL will no longer exist by the time goaltender Rick DiPietro’s 15-year contract with the New York Islanders expires.
But if I’m wrong, watch out for DiPietro in the 2020 season, when he’ll be in a contract year and playing for the really big money.

I love hockey. You all suck. This contract was one of the smartest moves the Islanders could have ever made. DiPietro is an incredible goalie. Go Hoosiers!

Umm, yeah why on earth would you think hockey (& the NHL) wouldn’t be around. You should try looking up ice hockey in Wikepedia. The concept of hockey has been around for centuries. And as for the NHL, you have obviously have not spent anytime in Canada where hockey is the NATIONAL WINTER SPORT. Next time try working through the whole thought process before commenting.

rick DiPietro, isnt terrible however he is not that good either, the contract was stupid for the islanders but its prettin incrible for Rick!

I love hockey!! (GO DEVILS!) DiPietro is good though…but a lot can happen over 15 yr time span, so I dont know if it was such a good idea, but hey, it’s his life… (fyi Zach Parise is the best looking hockey player!

You obviously know nothing about hockey.
It requires more skill and intelligence than most other sports.
You have to react and think really fast.
You have to be smart, quick thinking, and skilled to play hockey.
